Invertebrates-no backbone
Phylum Mollusks-soft body, no bones
Ex: snails, slugs, clams, and squids
Some have a hard outer shell (keeps them from being eaten)
Phylum Annelids-worms belong to many different phyla

Ex: jelly fish (its life cycle is very different-egg, larva attaches to a new place, polyp, polyp grows and pieces fall off or bud to form new jellyfish)
Phylum Arthropods-largest phylum of animals; bodies divided into separate parts

Dichotomous Key used to identify organisms by answering a series of questions
Complete metamorphosis-completely change into something different than what they were born as
Ex: butterflies, moths, houseflies
Incomplete metamorphosis-animals that hatch from eggs looking almost like adults
