The Basics
Hi! My name is Mrs. LaDonna Metaxas. I live in Cordova, TN with my husband George, and our two dogs, Jasmine and Cowboy. I have four married daughters, Amanda, Sarah, Katie, and Melissa. My oldest, Christopher is in heaven with God. I enjoy reading, traveling to Texas to see my grandsons Benjamin and Samuel, & being with friends and family. I will be your child’s 5th grade teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. This will be my 29th year teaching at St. Ann Catholic School. I was in Little Rock at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic School for a year and a half, 1997-2000. I am excited to help your child navigate and succeed in fifth grade.
My Childhood
I grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. I was born into a true Italian family of two loving parents, two brothers and one sister. Our family owned an Italian bakery, Zavelli’s Italian Bakery. I attended Holy Rosary in first grade, Blessed Sacrament in second grade, and grades third thru eighth at St. Michael’s Catholic School. I then attended Treadwell High School before graduating from the University of Memphis (then called Memphis State.)
My Education
In May of 1982 I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Secondary Vocational Home Economics from Memphis State University. I then returned to earn my Elementary Certificate for Grades 1-8.
