The Spoken Word. Ancient Hebrew society had little or no paper. So the spoken word (or Oral Tradition as it is sometimes called) was at first, the source of the knowledge of God’s work among his people. In other words people only heard about God when people spoke to each other about God. The Covenant bound the Israelites together as the People of God.
Abraham’s Story is in the book of Genesis (11:26-25:10). He was very loyal to God, he believed and trusted in God enough to leave his father and journey to an unknown country. He was also so obedient to God he was willing to sacrifice his son, Isaac. God will always guide us. Important to remember to trust in God in these difficult times.
