Article of the Day # 1 “Buried Treasure”
Math-Dividing by one digit, complete Workbook p. 54 #1-11
Reading-read p. 232-249, pay close attention to reasons people need to protect the environment, author’s purpose for writing the story, specific vocabulary used in the story.
English-complete p. 91 #1-5 and p. 92.
Religion-read p. 104-105-highlight important details.
Science-read p. 104-105 notes in journal:
Cellular Respiration——sugar + oxygen ——-> carbon dioxide + water + energy
Process of sugar and oxygen being broken up into energy
Photosynthesis—-carbon dioxide + water + sunlight energy ——> sugar + oxygen
Process of plants making food
Carbon dioxide comes from air that enters into the leaf
Water comes from the roots
Sunlight energy goes into the chloroplast and is absorbed by the plates containing chlorophyll
Oxygen is the air we breathe
Sugar is food for the plant (stored food becomes starch and is stored mostly in the roots)
Draw the picture in your book on p. 104-105
