Article of the Day-

In Pictures: Journey to the Stars

Complete your Book of Knowledge. Make sure you write three 7-Up sentences about the article in your own words. Do not copy and paste. Read the article and think about what you learned from the article rather than writing word for word what the article says.

Math-Read p. 182 in your math book then copy these notes in your math journal:

Subtraction with Renaming

>To subtract a mixed number from a whole number

1) Rename the whole number as a mixed number

2) Subtract the mixed numbers 

3) Write the difference in simplest form

Example:    3           =    2 6/6

                  --1 2/6    = -  1 2/6

______________________________________

                                1 4/6 = 1 2/3 (simplest form)

Example:   7 – 6 1/4  = 6 4/4 - 6 1/4 = 3/4 

Example:   9 – 2/3 = 8 3/3 — 2/3 = 8 1/3

Religion-Use the definition of “Mourn” on page 270 to help you write a newer modern version of the beatitude: Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. You may not use “Mourn,” “blessed,” or “comforted,” in your new version.

Reading-Read Ch. 20 & 21 in “Tuck Everlasting.”

Vocabulary-Read or listen to the story on pages 160-161 Unit 16 words. Then read the definitions, synonyms and antonyms on pages 162-163.
